THE TRIBAL AMBIENT ERA
LIVE 1996
Recorded live in Sacramento, California 11-8-96.

Journey of One presents a peak moment in the evolution of the tribal ambient phase of Roach's sound odyssey. This standout solo performance from the mid 90's occurred in a time constantly shaped by concerts worldwide along with a flurry of influential solo releases and collaborations with Jorge Reyes, Suspended Memories, Vidna Obmana, Robert Rich and others. This was a vital period of innovation for Steve, recording and touring in exotic locations in Europe, Mexico and Australia. This was a time of fearless exploration from an artist responding to an instinctual desire to merge ancient impulses with sounds from the near future.

Journey of One reaches into this era and pulls out a stunning coalescence captured in this live solo concert from 1996. This document plays like the genesis of the tribal ambient sound as it was unfolding. Volcanic resonations from this time are conjured up along with new pieces that were only heard that night, and not heard again until now. An essential moment from a pivotal phase in the recorded work of Steve Roach.

Journey of One 2CD is packaged in 6-panel digipak.
