Lamplight AVL is an Asheville-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides space, resources and time to
artists so they can create innovative art and share it with our community.
In late September 2024, a thousand year storm hit Western North Carolina. Tree and wind damage was
immense, and catastrophic flooding annihilated our lower lying areas. Our region's communities were built around our rivers; these riparian zones are the central hubs for many of the artists and arts organizations that make Asheville such a special, vibrant place. Many lost homes, studios, equipment, livelihoods, and more.
In the aftermath of the storm, we learned just how resilient our community is, and how much artists, residents, and visitors alike care about the folks who call this place home. Lamplight AVL is built by and for the incredible community of artists in our region. As soon as the storm hit, we began building a program to enable artists to recover, remain in the area, and continue to create the work that inspires our community. Funds are distributed directly to artists over multiple phased projects, ensuring recovery is both immediate and foundational, and maintaining the Asheville area's identity as an arts haven for residents and visitors alike.
The entire Lamplight AVL team is deeply grateful to Drop of Sun Studios for creating this compilation,
to the artists who contributed work to it, and to you for buying it. Our recovery will be long, but with help we know we can rebuild our community and flourish again. By purchasing this album, you have made a direct and concrete difference in the lives of our community's artists. So from our hearts, thank you.

Fostering an environment for artists to freely and boundlessly create has been our core guiding principle since the studio's inception in 2015.
This collection of songs speaks to the remarkable breadth, overflowing quantity and quality of projects we're fortunate enough to host at Drop Of Sun. Being a resource to the Asheville arts community has yielded wonderful long-lasting relationships, amazing songs like these and a platform to communicate and cope during hard times. We are humbled by the response of our community near and far during this trying time.
The Asheville area has a long way to go and we are making great strides. We invite you to listen, discover and enjoy these unreleased tracks in an effort to contribute to Hurricane Helene rebuild efforts. Thank you so much for your love and support. We hope you will visit our beloved hometown soon.
