Double LP combining two 1957 sessions, previously released as Dakar and Interplay For 2 Trumpets And 2 Tenors

As Coltrane's fame grew during the 1960's after he had stopped recording for Prestige, the label assembled, retitled, and reissued Coltrane's 50's session work under his name. Record one of this 2lp set is a reissue of Dakar as released in 1963 on Prestige Records, catalog 728, which was a reissue of one side of a 16 rpm Prestige 1957 release called Baritones and French Horn that was originally credited to the Prestige All Stars. Record two is also a Prestige All Stars reissue, a 1957 release called Interplay For 2 Trumpets And 2 Tenors. This version includes an additional track from the same session called C.T.A.
