In the fall of 1957, there were two separate JATP concerts recorded that featured the group led by Stan Getz and J.J. Johnson. The first was recorded in stereo in Chicago and the second in mono in Los Angeles. For this compact disc we have included all of the stereo concert (tracks 1-4) – with the exception of a version of It Never Entered My Mind omitted for time considerations – and all of the mono concert (tracks 5-10).

Tracks 1-4 recorded in stereo, September 29, 1957 at the Civic Opera House in Chicago.
Tracks 5-10 recorded in mono, October 7, 1957 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Digitally remastered from the original master tapes, PolyGram Studios USA.

All selections previously released.
Special thanks to Phil Sharp.
