Feed. Kill. Repeat. is the independent debut album by Slipknot, released on October 31, 1996 with a pressing of 1000 copies. The band self-distributed the CDs until June 13, 1997, when Dan Schlissel took the remaining 386 copies for distribution under his -Ismist Recordings label. Those copies received a new catalogue number (-ism CD 0032) and a very limited number of copies were unwrapped and opened to add a promotional ink stamp by the label, and later a promotional sticker.
Mick Thomson and Craig Jones joined after the album's recording and as such do not appear on it. However, Jones helped with the concept and graphics of the sleeve.
Its very limited number of copies has resulted in a lot of interest by collectors. As such, it was heavily bootlegged not only on CD, but also on vinyl and cassette. The real version only exists on CD, if your copy does not match the photos or this description, it is a bootleg. - The color of the front of the CD is forest green. - The front side of the CD has two rings. - The center rings on the silver back side of the CD are green. - Page 12 says Percussion, Vocals, Lyricist, it cannot have the word Lyrics in it. - On the inner sleeve cover there are no perforations folding up to the spine, it's a continuous fold. - The barcode's bars don't touch the number 4, the 6 resembles a circle with a straight line attached, the 7 is slightly more curved
As mentioned, some copies were used as promo. Some of them have a sticker placed on the disc and in the back of the case, highlighting the recording studio and the name of the producer Sean Mcmahon. Other versions came with round cut-outs in the barcode & booklet and also with a red For Promotional Use Only Not For Sale writing on the front booklet.
