From press release included with some copies:
Crain is a band from Louisville, Ky.

There are four people in Crain: Joe Mudd, Tim Furnish, Jon Cook, and Will Chatham. They've been playing together for longer than most people remain friends, and have been doing Crain for three years. Crain is relatively young (average age: 19.7) and has suffered from and rejoiced in the perils of growing up, and as of nine months ago, no longer live with their parents. April is a big month for them; their first LP is out, and their first (longer than a week) tour. The tour is with Circus Lupus from DC, who are on Discord records. So go see them!
Speed was recorded in three days on an eight track machine for $450. It was recorded and engineered (not produced, no one rearranged their songs) by Steve Albini in his basement. There are one-thousand records and five-hundred cassettes in print. No CD exists, and goddamn if it all wasn't paid for by insurance from certain accidents.
