Information not on release: The original 1982 UK release comes in a light green picture sleeve. In 1983 Pale Shelter was re-released as a single to promote the recently released LP The Hurting. Mercury released numerous picture discs and coloured vinyl releases, in all, 11 different variations of the reissued single are available.
In 1985, following up on the massive success of the band's second LP Songs from the Big Chair, Mercury reissued this single release with the original mix, complete with a new cream color picture sleeve.
