The Koploper Hots compilations were exclusively handed out by Dutch newspaper conglomerate Perscombinatie Distributiebedrijf as a promotional gift to kids who distributed the Dutch newspapers De Volkskrant, Trouw and Het Parool from door to door. In this campaign, the word Koploper referred to the paperboys and -girls, doing their work rain or shine.

This first volume was followed by a volume 2 in 1992.
