This version was released nine months before the Ninja Tune edition and has a different tracklist: it includes two two tracks not on other versions (Ritmo Tabaco and Picazón) and longer/alternate versions of some tracks (Havana's Streets, Kennedy's Secret Tapes, Mami). Havana's Streets is longer and has a piano part throughout that is missing in later versions. Kennedy's Secret Tapes is longer and has many different elements as well. Mami is an alternate take, and longer. (This version does not include two tracks that appear on the reissue versions (Back The Deal and Carbine 744, 520...Che Guevara).) The mastering on this Japanese version is louder, brighter, and crisper than on the reissue versions.

CD-Rom includes QuickTime videos made with MacroMedia.

Issued in a standard jewel case with front and rear inserts, 10x10 foldout insert, obi strip and clear disc tray. The front insert is 20 pages, full color.
