The Montevideo Senior High tage Band hs been in existence for 8 years under the direction of A.C. Johnson. The 25-member band is chosen through auditions each fall. They rehearse for 2 hours each monday night and 2 mornings a week at 7:30.
the group works extensively trough the year in areas of solo performance, improvisation, theory, composition and arranging.
The band has won numerous solo and ensemble awards and many alumni are presently appearing as professional musicians.
The band recently appeared at the Minnesota Music Educator's Convention in Minneapolis and performs at concerts, clinic, and competitions each year.
A.C. Johnson received his B.A. from Concordia College and his master degree from Indiana University.
