Famed FIELDCUP CONCERT was a private Jam Session for a group of cultured enthusiasts. The ONLY PERFORMANCE of the Legendary Ellington Octet.

This is a bootleg of live recordings made during 1968 when Ellington led an octet at the Rainbow Grill in New York City.

The date of these performances is uncertain, but occurred while the Ellington Octet was engaged at the Rainbow Grill (between May 20 and June 29, 1968). The private party was hosted by the Fieldcrest (not Fieldcup) Company, and took place either at the Rainbow Grill or in Woodbridge, NJ.
