Although the box rear claims that the recordings were made in Moscow from 1960 to 1980,
recording dates on labels contradict this and display a different, much narrower time frame,
in line with Complete Quartets:
- String Quartets 1 and 15: no date
- String Quartet 8: 1978
- String Quartets 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14: 1981
- String Quartets 6 and 9: recorded at Moscow Conservatory, 27 September 1981
- String Quartets 2 and 4: 1982
- String Quartets 3 and 5: 1983
