Das Hörspiel erschien zunächst im April 1972 unter dem Titel Kakadu in Nöten (auf LP und MC), wurde aber in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 1973 auch unter dem Titel Hilf, Löwe hilf! neu auf Schallplatte aufgelegt, um die Zugehörigkeit zur Löwe-Hörspielreihe zu betonen.
