Notes from Bandcamp (https://timryanmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-time-stamp-sessions):
In 2006, Tim Ryan booked a short series of recording dates which he referred to as the Time Stamp sessions.
Largely featuring just the man and his guitar, Ryan's intent was to transition from “just-plain-working,” to “working musician” as smoothly possible. To that end, he put some of his favorite songs down on tape alongside a few current hits of the time. A handful of these tracks would be used as demos to help him book shows.
Ryan wanted out of the nine-to-five. Badly. And this seemed the quickest, most certain route.
Over the next three years, he would perform any and everywhere that would take him; from the coffee houses of Long Island to the Manhattan club circuit, to black-tie VIP events, through New Jersey and down to Philadelphia. Ryan caught fire. He was having fun, traveling, and making money. These gigs would help him finance the recording of LOVE AT FIRST NIGHT, his one-and-only solo album. “It’s hard work,” Tim once proclaimed, “but I’m glad I’m not waiting tables anymore.”
This collection is made possible with a lot of help from Steven, Rob, and Steve Ryan.
