But what is Funbalaya?? Is it a verb? Adjective? Noun? Maybe...
The term Funbalaya was coined by Phil Hammel of The Ocean Floor to describe a particular house in mid-Florida suburbia where multiple musics were made. Sooner than later, the word extended its reach beyond the participants of the house to a larger network of local musicians, artists, conspirators, and friends. A few Funbalaya members wanted to share some of the music made within our communities. This compilation is the product of our attempt. Recognize that this is only a sampling; there are many more projects in the future.
