Limited edition of 300 copies.

Twelve rustling & crackling tracks which are 100% recycled from scratches, clicks and noise from vinyl. Throughout the dirty, rotten sounds of vinyl scratches, one can still hear influences from funk, dub, jazz, hiphop, reggae, psychedelica, global beats and club house, albeit in a different way than usual. Also, there’s the longest track of the album with a scratch solo of turntablist virtuoso Broky B, chill and cinematic soundscapes can be experienced and - traditionally – on the last track the needle stays almost endlessly in the groove.

The reason for ‘kras’ was the steady decline of vinyl and the disappearance of more and more record stores. x-0-x: The glory days of vinyl are over, and what remains are the collector’s items treasured by music lovers, plus the great unsellable pile which lays rotting in cellars, giveaway shops and flea markets. 'kras' is an ode to the forgotten, often worn and damaged vinyl, and dives deep into the groove.

The cd booklet includes unique photographs from the last days of the legendary Boudisque in Amsterdam, the long gone Dert at the Nieuwendijk in Vlissingen (where x-0-x bought his first records), and Queensday - where in recent years vinyl was left en masse to the pavement and the garbage trucks. Altogether it is a gloomy list of facts and images in the shadow of the careless and nonchalant transition into the digital age.

But never mind: It's great to see that despite the digital revolution a - probably even growing - number of listeners can appreciate the sound and the experience of vinyl. Not that x-0-x ignores the blessings of the digital age...
