Steven Machat (born October 18, 1952, Manhattan, New York) is an American entertainment attorney, producer, documentary filmmaker ([m1152301]) and author of several music-themed books. He started his legal career with a two year stint as a public defender in Davidson County, Tennessee following graduation from Vanderbilt Law. In 1978, he joined his father Marty Machat and brother Michael Machat in Machat & Machat.

He is father to the late Barron Machat and founder of [l2328856].
