Independent radio host in mid-80s KCMU Seattle, often with cohost Nancy Sackman, specializing in electronic music. Allen founded the conceptual art habitat environment Main Plant which later morphed into Incubator record and performance space over several years. He supplied music gear as a promoter to bring experimental acts like Zoviet France to the loft performance space he helped create on 9th downtown. He also kept a private music studio in the funeral home he was employed by. An avid outdoor photographer he eventually moved his operations to a road van equipped with electronics freeing him for travel into the field.
