Heartbreak U.S.A. was a short-lived synth-pop trio under Preppy Records.
In 1984, the group released their first EP titled 'The Flirts' which included the tracks Impulse, Kiss 'N' Tell, Boys Make Me Nervous and You're Gonna Be Sorry Later. However, this was not a new release from The Flirts, but original Flirts member Rebecca Sullivan attempting to cash in on the name. This was legally stopped by Flirts' creator Bobby Orlando as he had no involvement in this release, and the group subsequently changed their name to Heartbreak U.S.A. and called the EP 'The Flirts' instead.
