The unpronounceable symbol is an alias used by Prince from June 7 1993 to May 16 2000 - he changed his stage name to the symbol which is a combination of the symbols for male (♂) and female (♀). Because the symbol is unpronounceable, he’s often referred by others as The Symbol, The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, T.A.F.K.A.P., or simply The Artist - the formally correct term (later copyrighted & printed on releases) is Love Symbol.
