Bass player from Rome, New York who started playing bass guitar from the age of 12. He also plays keyboards. He was spotted in Augusta by
James Brown and his band leader (possibly
Hollie Farris). This resulted in him being with Brown for seven years and playing on a dozen of Brown's albums. He co-wrote with
Anne McLeod the song Smokin' & Drinkin' which appears on Brown's 1980 album release
Soul Syndrome. He appeared in a scene with Brown in the
Blues Brothers movie.
He owned and ran the Word of Mouth Cafe in Augusta (1992 - 1998) where his band would play most nights. Also celebrities such as James Brown,
Jamie Foxx,
Bernie Mac and
Grover Washington, Jr. were known to visit the establishment. He is also a member of jazz group Preston and Weston who in.2004, were voted Best Jazz Band by readers of
Augusta Magazine and Best Band by Aiken publication,
Easy Street Magazine
He has also been involved in education teaching jazz at seminars and elementary schools. He is also active in the Universal Ministries Christian Fellowship
