Nathaniel Thomas Wilson (born July 20, 1968), better known as Kool G Rap (or simply G Rap), is an American rapper. He started his career in the mid-1980s as part of the duo Kool G Rap & D.J. Polo and as a member of the Juice Crew All Stars. Recognized as one of the most skilled and influential MCs in hip-hop, he helped pioneer mafioso rap, hardcore street narratives, and intricate multisyllabic rhyming. On his album The Giancana Story, he mentioned that the G in his name stands for Giancana (after mobster Sam Giancana), though he has also stated it stands for Genius.
